Can anyone tell me what happens when you have a block encryption like DES that uses a 64bit block and a 56 bit key? Does the 56bit key only effect 56bits of the 64 bit block?
same with AES wih 128 bit blocks and 192 bit keys, does it encrypt 128 bits then over lap with the left over 64 bits of the key?

Lol i was actually thinkin of my last one about logical block addressing on harddrives yesterday but cant seem to find it  scratchhead
