I've played about an hour of the PC version. It feels quite good and looks pretty cool too. But already I'm missing Bioware's magic they put into NPC character creation. I could give you loads of examples of the clunky nps stuff just from an hours play. But my fav example is, NPC starts talking to me crossing a bridge, I keep walking turn around and the NPC is talking to thin air with there head at 90 degrees to their body thinking I'm still there. They just feel like cardboard cut outs. So far it feels like an expansion/upgrade to Oblivion with the same artificial characters. But I'm still going to waist loads of hours on it at some point no doubt. |

I bought it on the Steam Deal and struggled with the GFX being a bit stuttery on my 6870. During setup it set the system up for High, but no amount of tweaking made much of a difference, so I thought bugger it, let's try Ultra....and it was an instant improvement.  It's the first time I've run across a game that runs better on the highest settings available.  |

I get slight roughness (not really stuttering) a tiny bit in Whiterun at certain view points and its apparently down to poor coding on multi core cpu's not gpu's. Theres a mod out to address it, but its barely noticeable for me with all settings maxed so I'll leave as is. About 60hrs in now and starting to get bored/repetition fatigue again. Had to give it a break at 40hrs in. Now I've got Dragon armour and highly skilled archer I'm solely pursuing the main quest. Once thats done Witcher 1 & 2 for me. Would consider returning to Skyrim a year down the line maybe to go through as different character. Great game and my Game of 2011, but theres no way you'd have me do several hundred hours of it. |
