I'm honestly not impressed. It reminds why I hated BF2 and I mean I HATED BF2. Wake is ruined. It's just a massive cluster of jets and choppers and and too many T-90's. No one bothers their arse going for the flags and that is what made Wake so great. Gulf of Oman is is pish as it ever was. Sharki Peninsula (Name right ? SP ?) is actually quite good, I enjoyed it and Karkand ain't as bad as it was when it was BF2. Wake is a let down though  |

Think it depends on who is on the server tbh, i had a great game with a squad that was all about capping the flags... i'll give you the too many vehicles point though.. they need to reduce them or lower the spawn times on them by quite a bit

Maybe a good game on Friday night whilst on TS will turn me round on it.
TBH I quite like a lot of the maps in BF3 though.

Never played BF2 before... was confused with some of the maps where one team already has all the points on the map from the start.
The new weapon achievement unlocks are fun but ... the FAMAS Iron sight sucks ... I cant hit anything with it ...

The game I had last night with Tricks and Cond were excellent, really good, if not a bit long. But still brilliant.
So goes to show sometimes it can turn a game around.

I do not care at all for Strike at Karkand or Wake Island. The first one is too spread out, even on 64 man... The later one even more so. How exactly am I supposed to find a replacement stinger or rpg if everyone is in vehicles.
Bring back ammo boxes.

Strike at Karkand is an abomination of a map .... at a point the enemy controlled all the objectives and we didnt have a spawning location anywhere .... we just had to wait for our team to recapture a point before we could respawn ... ridiculous. Gunner classes run around with ammo boxes btw, but the class is not popular and they tend to forget they have to drop ammo for the team ... |

I play as support quite often... I like unlimited ammo, you can eventually auto heal, is my theory... and C4 is good versus ground vehicles on BF3 maps. It's absolutely useless on Wake though...
If you go RPG, you can't hit air, and get destroyed by a helo... then get fucked by a tank (or you go AT mine and attempt to trick stupid people)... you get Stingers, which still largely suck and for the same reason as BF2 (flares and locking is a crap mechanic for people with no ability to aim)... Fire three stingers, which won't bring down a helo most of the time... you're out... and on Wake most people are Anti tank, so there are no ammo boxes. Hooray.

I dont bother with support myself cause I usually die often enough to start with a fresh batch of ammo LOL ^^
AT Mines are good on Wake Island if you know the bottle necks. So you can try and go AA launcher too bad It takes coordination with other players with AA. But still: At the moment anti air is broken ... flares are still OP IMO. So no-one bothers with AA launchers atm ....
I understood they had to chance something on damage reception. 1 hit for air was vehicle disabled which was a bit too much
But the flare cooldown kills all purpose of engaging air with AA launchers. Just a wasted inventory slot, grab the torch or anti vehicle launcher and hope the enemy pilot is a dumb idiot who'll crash.
You can maybe hope the map has mobile/fixed AA but that's mostly not the case unfortunatly.

Still don't like any of the Karkand maps I've played.
Which is a real shame since everyone is happy bumming the expansion at the moment and completely ignoring the other decent maps.

The more I play them, the more I prefer the other maps .... the balancing on them is just horendous ...
