I think the maps are half decent tbh, don't see what all the greetin' and girning is about.

The b2k maps are a level above most of the standard maps,ie firestorm, metro, highway and peak are no where near as good.

Firestorm in conquest is one of my favorites biggrin

Tehran Highway I havent played much but I like the atmosphere of the night and the distant explosions.  Granted  I have seen some evil spawn raping on that map ...

Metro and Damavand Peak are the only maps I dont like from BF3 standard mappack Sad   ... especially Damavand Peak Rush mode ...

Ah well, personal taste smile

The only one I don't like really is Operation Metro on Rush. That one is idiotic. You get trying to get up the escalators or stairs, with 40+ or so people guarding... it's a no win.

I by far prefer the original maps. Some people are just happy a bunch of BF2 maps are back, even though one of them is a BF1942 map... anyway.. Wake WAS a great map. Back in 1942 though air power was really limited to good bombing, occasional strafing runs and dog fighting. The inclusion of helicopters, which are ridiculously strong in their current form... due to the impotent nature of stingers, and the perks that can be added to the vehicle. The balance of air power now is completely different. Whilst DC introduced choppers, anti air also kept you on your toes.

I'd also like to point out one of my other complaints is that the effective range of most weapons is too far. For example, I killed a sniper with a LMG in two hits yesterday... when he was up a tower... trying to snipe me. So I can cause the suppressing effect on a sniper, AND kill him... with a M27... right... though, I've seen worse from people with M60s or M249s.

Badger said it himself, actually a good player in a vehicle can dominate on Wake. Specially as a tank too.  Tank, and a gunner... nothings getting close. If you don't deliberately put yourself in danger of course. There's none of the sneaky round the back and C4 them on Wake.

I think I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that I only want to play the old maps, some people have their rose tinted BF2 nostalgia, but since I thought the game was a pile of pisswank I don't really have the memories.

I found BF3 frustrating in sections, but Karkand is flat out disappointing I'm finding.

I absolutely love Team Deathmatch in BF3... which I can safely say I didn't expect to say.

Actually fairly close to saying vehicles ruin BF3... which is actually really odd :\

I did 2 TDM matches and I must say it's much more fun than the standard shooter TDM.  Feels much more tactical being able to support eachother instead of trekking around the map solo along the same routes over and over again.

I cant bring myself to exite me anymore for arena shooters .... /fap fap fap ... nope still nothing...
