Top games this year for me have been:
Shogun 2
GT5 (yes I know it came out 2010)
Rage
Crysis 2
Skyrim
Dead Island
If I had to choose one and obviously have to exclude GT5 as 2010, then would have to go with Skyrim for top dog. Horrendous list of bugs, but the soul of it still shines through. Unusual for me to agree with the masses, but guess I am this year.

I'd say RAGE. Even though it was a bit on the short side it was a bit different. Portal 2 was a waste of money imho, there was barely a challenging level in the whole game.  F1 2011 is worth a mention because of how good it looked.  |

and
Red Orchestra 2 Heroes of Stalingrad. Bug ridden but immersive as a game gets.
BF3 did steel its thunder though.

Funny how, despite hype etc, there are some games which you just feel compelled to ignore. Woosty mentioning Portal 2. I remember when they gave the first away for free, I downloaded and still couldn't bring myself to play it  So yeah, I very much doubt Portal 2 will ever get a look in. I'd be more excited at playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.  Yet everyone around me loves it  |
