Last week a top economic minister Yvan Heyn (34) of the Arg govt was found hanged in his hotel room in Montevideo, Uruguay during a Mercosur summit.
He was a rising star, but of course there is speculation over the circumstances....viz Michael Hutchence similarities.

Yesterday, the Argentine Consul in Bolivia, Antonio Deimundo Escobal was found hanged in his residence.

This morning, the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner announced that she has thyroid cancer and will be operated on 4th Jan and therefore passing the baton to her Vice President for 3 weeks.

Chavez, the Venezuelan President we all know has cancer and is having periodic treatment in Cuba.
Ex President Lula of Brazil also has it along with one or two other South American leaders.

And of course the conspiracy theories have already begun.
Guess who's the culprit?

On New Year's Eve, the newly elected governor of the State of Rio Negro was shot dead by his wife. The circumstances of which still remain unclear and she has been released from Police custody pending investigations by a judge, in spite of the fact that she is alleged to have confessed to the shooting. *

In the same State, the mayor of a small town has now gone missing since NY Eve, leaving a mysterious text message to his wife with just one word 'estoy'....which could mean any number of things. A large manhunt is under way.
So, in the space of just a few weeks since the President was re elected, two top politicians have hung (hanged?) themselves, a state Governor has been shot, a mayor has fone missing and the President has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

*Apparently she didn't admit to the deed.
It's very weird.
