This is the old privy at the end of the garden from the flat and was thinking about asking the landlord if I could use it for storing tools. Never really played around with a roof before so what would you guy's suggest I'm sure I could pickup a few slates but what are the ones on the top called & do they still make them Maybe I could rip of the old roof & put down some MDF then felt The door way will need a new frame & door which I should be able to manage and I have a mate who can do brick work for re-pointing. Anything else I would need to think about I'll get some better pictures tomorrow if it's dry.

I'd felt it with the heavy duty mineral felt, slates are a bit expensive iirc and it'd take far more work. With the felt all you'd need to do it sheet it, blowtorch the felt down as you roll it down and tack it along the edges.

Would a heat gun do the job I like the idea of a new roof as I'm thinking that some of the timbers will be damp & if I MDF then I can screw into the timbers that are sound. With slate I would have to replace the bad ones me thinks?

Would felt meet code and be water resistant enough? I'm not familiar with the material, I guess. Sent by Droid X while sniping squirrels from my roof.

Presuming that the wood beams are okay, why not simply get a corrugated roof thingumajig wotsit, cut it to size and nail it to the wood beams.

You could check a salvage yard out for tiles and get them cheaper that way.

And what's with that foot sticking out of the bottom of the door? Don't you know the neighbors will smell the body come spring when it thaws out? Sent by Droid X while practicing head shots with my blow gun on the neighbors dogs.

Looks like an 8 foot by 4' shitter. As Kryten said, galvanised tin sheeting, providing roof timbers are good, finished with facia timber boards and silicon to seal. The door will be a problem as frame and door will not be todays standard size, either a made to order job or a lucky find at the reclaim depot. Or just knock the brick out to fit standard door and frame. You could have no door and hire a security guard wino and hit him for digs as well. I had a wee monkey who shit doon the shunky. (sorry, just singing to myself) Look at overall costs , as you might be able to buy and put togher shed for the cost of it all.

You still have to deck under the tin. It can't support the weight of the snow. Maybe you already figured that, but I thought I should point that out just in case. :P
