The right to own big flash cars without consequence on the rest of the planet is almost at a stage now where people with the big flash cars are starting to realise that owning such extravegance is becoming detrimental to others sharing the same planet.

The leading role America plays in consumerism is waining. China has and is taking up the top dog role in mass consumerism, they have millions of people who all want a big flash car. We are doomed.

Went with a Ford Mondeo Estate Ecoboost (1.6 TDi version) Titanium X.

Got blocked on Audi's by the people upstairs but in hindsight I have been very impressed with it so far. Gadgets galore and a better/smoother drive. Amazed at the punch from a 1.6 diesel engine as well, it matches the A4 1.9TDi for poke and is a LOT CHEAPER in tax.

Niggles, none thus far (1 month), totally chuffed with it.

Given we're likely to hit £1.50 a litre for diesel this year it's an excellent choice of engine.  Cool

I've looked at those Mondeo Titaniums myself, very tempting. Wink

I have plans... payrise, mortgage and newer car... weirdly more excited about cars than a flat.

Payrise makes the mortgage a bit more affordable though, which would be nice. Quite a bit underpaid now, especially how necessary I am there now... going to have to offer to increase my notice though, at the moment I can up and leave in under a month and they would be seriously fucked. I know it's a little bit selfish, but I kinda have to look after myself in that kind of thing... I'm normally really crap at it... I know not many people have been getting payrises lately but I'm not getting stuck in a rut when I'm learning shit loads of stuff for them and they are basically lowballing me with sub inflationary... I don't believe I have much to fear with business security, my company will not ever disappear quickly, and I've got a nice skillset now of readily transferable skills... my project manager thought I was on fifteen k more than I am, and was really surprised what I was on.

Since I've got a nice case of being consistently single, and thus am without the financial anchor called a girl... I'll just get a nice car instead. Thinking a Renaultsport Megane 250 or a Evo FQ300, which are quick, handle well and fairly affordable. I'd love a Nissan GTR but I would really need to contract to be able to afford one. I think I'm just about young enough to have a stupid loud screamy car still.
