Smattie announces tonight at the dinner table just after I'd sat down after getting in from work that some guy from TalkTalk is popping round to see me. WTF !!?  WHY? Oh he asked if we were receiving our free internet....and if not to let us now we are (get this) entitled to free internet (as if it's some government scheme, as if). So she told him I was the one who dealt with such things and she didn't know how much we paid for our internet. He said he would pop back at 7:30pm. FFS! I don;t want to talk (talk) to this bawbag who is just out to try and sell me a TalkTalk shite phone package that comes with equally shite, slow, unreliable and over subscribed internet. I told Smattie she should have told the guy we are on 50mb fibre optic/cable. she claims ignorance (my ass) so she called me grumpy and asked if she would just go out and tell the guy when he arrives that I'm not interested. Aye, too frickin right. I'm not the one who wasted his time and to behonest he can shove his shite free internet up his fucking arse. I'd rather pay my 25 buckaronoos and get my 50mb cable thanks. Oh...plus he will probably be wanting me to pay to reconnect to ubershite BT's line again. I. t.h.i.n.k. n.o.t. |

Your '50-soon-to-be-100-meg-at-no-extra-cost' connection.  With ADSL you'll be lucky to get 8 meg here. Check out what car he turns up in and ask him if he'd be willing to get rid of it for a free Ka...the one you have sitting outside. If he declines, ask him why not...it's a great offer, a better offer than he's turned up with.  |

Looking into it, it seems that Carhorn Warehouse have been offering it since 2006 (when so many people took them up on the offer they fell far, far behind in getting around to connecting their new customers and got so many complaints they had to employ another 1000 call centre staff to deal with them  ). |

Guy turned out to okay. I told him I was on 50 mb cable right away and he said fair enough. He was a decent enough guy, in his middle ages with a beard...why a beard made him okay I don't know, it just did.

I've just signed up for my third 18-month contract with Talktalk. I connect at 21Mb/s and have unlimited downloads. No cable round here. I'm quite happy with it.
And it has nowt to do with BT.
