I heard today that they found two Scottish blokes alive in the bar area, but they told the divers to fuck off because they'd paid for all inclusive.

There'll be a bit of an insurance claim on that big beasty.  I hope they were fully comp.

Noting that at the time it hit the rock the scale is 880m across the whole chart you can see how close they were to the shore.  The chart shows the latitude so I was able to get a scale from that (1 degree of latitude equals 1nm) I calculated he was 50m off Isole le Scole when he ran aground.   The track record also shows the ship speed which was 15kts at the point of impact.

This is definitely human error at its worst and there is no excuse for this what so ever. Too close to shore and too fast for that close to shore.

Aye, it looks like he could hardly have missed it...some of the rock he hit is even above the high water line.

What was he trying to do...take a piss on it?

Wow that really is bad    Any of us here could have done a better job I reckon (previous sailing experience aside)
