My old man was into it as well, sister still has one....that she doesn't actually want.
...it was the old mans and she took it on because no-one wanted to flush Godzilla down the pan.  happy

(I think Godzilla's real name is a Pleco, but he's still alive and perfectly happy living under his rock (along with the newer fish she added). Cool)

A year or so ago we downgraded from a 4' to a 3' aquarium.

Plecs can be ugly buggers.

Used to have two tanks of tropicals. but gave up because I didn't have time to look after them properly. Great fun if you do.
And yes, plecs are ugly so and so's. They can grow to quite a size.

Not an aquarium really but my kids have a 60ltr tank that I have to look after.
Contains a bog standard goldfish and some more odd looking ones (my personal favorites are the Black comets).

6 fish in total.

I cant wait for them all to die so I can switch to tropical  Cool

I believe you can do that now mate as goldfish can live in warm water......

Anyway I'm getting a tank off a friend in the next couple of weeks and as I haven't kept fish in along time was looking for a good forum if any of you know of one?? (for fish tongue2) Looking to go tropical with the idea of a lot of very small fish so they will shoal.

I've never liked the idea of keeping fish very much, same reason as birds really... bit too caged. Now, admittedly we've owned numerous rabbits but they are pretty free range since they always get a daily run in the garden, and then brought inside during the evenings to kind of mill around.

If you study up and do it properly salt-water aquariums are absolutely beautiful and are far more dynamic and exciting than fresh water ones.
The mistake I made with mine was 'stocking' it with my own freshly caught and collected specimins.
I used to go scuba-diving for sport. I collected some interesting corral and sand once and unknowingly introduced (in egg form I think) this most incredible worm-centipede like creature that was from HELL ITSELF. It killed all my fish and then started on my expensive anemone. I didn’t know what the hell was killing everything until I saw it one night sliding out of the sand and looking around. It was EVIL I tells ya!!
I had to destroy the whole lot.
