The constitution has been suspended in Pakistan, lawyers, civic leaders, human rights activists and Islamic leaders have all bee arrested in order to keep those in power in place, the West talks big and wags their fingers but since the current leadership is sympathetic to the 'War on Terror' they won't do a damn thing to prevent it.
It's seems obvious to me that they have either been given tacic approval to go ahead and seize power or have been led to believe that they hold enough cards to manage it unopposed and the situation really needs to be turned around as soon as possible. If it isn't we are just going to see more fuel added to the fire in the region.
We'll have another despot, fundamentalism will rise as conditions worsen and we'll be resented for it.
Al Q'aida will rejoice though since their agenda isn't really about killing infidels, it's about getting as many Muslims as possible to hate the infidels instead (normally by goading us into making life as difficult as possible for millions of Muslims), then the real problems will start.

no matter how much the western resources are poured into the middle east they will always return to this kind of behavior.
President Pervez Musharraf probably took a calculated risk with this approach and its paid off, i really hope they dont have nuclear capabilities

I see no problem, now there is another target after Iran. It also conveniently next to Afghanistan so might save some money in troop redeployment.

The problem is that their combined forces could be at least 1.5 million and Pakistan already have the very thing that Iran wants, nuclear weapons.
If they combined forces any form of military action on our part would be futile, there's no way we could win.

A land invasion would be hard granted, but we do have the better capability to keep them in the dark, fragmented and dissarrayed.

Air bombs, tactical nukes etc. on to them when they are all running around like headless chickens.  Depends, if it was a situation where by we were aggressively confronted by them in a situation WWII style, we would have the moral disposal at our command then and would do them.

Underestimating them is a mistake, they will also have the moral high ground since we would be the aggressors and the worse we make the situation the more likely it would be that the populations turn more against us than they are already.
They're going to be there forever, we can only hang around as long as the money and political will allows us.

Also, if those nukes Pakistan have go AWOL, they could turn up on anyone's doorstep..

TBH, I'm sick to fucken death of hearing stories that all ways lead back to islam....fuck islam,, and fuck the idiots that believe in it...I'm sick of muslims and sick of their fucken crap, they're forced views, sick of the way they treat women, sick of their double standards, just plain sick to death of the dumb cunts. FUCK THEM ALL, BURN IN HELL YOU MOTHERFUCKERS...bunch of retarded fucks..
I know how to fix the whole region, first off we start at home, get rid of every mosque, then outlaw the religion altogether, because make no mistake that the pricks will turn on you like a fcuken dog when it suits them...
Then deport any cunt that faces east and prays..fucken zealots...peaceful religion my arse, nothing fcuken peaceful about it at all, back in the fucken dark ages.
My next step would be to withdraw all financial aid, every fcuken cent, let them feed there own kids, instead of us doing it, while they spend money on weapons and hateful literature, only to have the very kids we feed, turn on us when they grow up, and use those very weapons against us..Who the fucks idea was that anyway, they need their fucken head read...
If they're forced to feed their own, then they cant afford weapons, if they dont feed their own, they're own die, then they will no longer have the numbers any more, so its a win win situation for the world...think about it...
I'm getting sick of the western world looking after these mongrels, when all they do is grow up wanting to bite the very hand that has fed and educated them.

I think over estimating is also a mistake that only works to their own goal of terror and fear.
Of course it would be hard, no war is easy.
But I think a combined ally force could take them on, and win.
And btw, I did say if they aggressed us first we would have the moral high ground, imagine AF let loose on them if they had to start a war 

And I'm also beginning to rethink my stance on a lot of the middle east, I have always thought of us as the aggressors but I am now starting to think whether we agressed them first or not wouldn't make a blind bit of difference because as AF so eloquently put it, most of it is just down to hating us because of our freedoms, liberties and ways that conflict with their extremist takes on their biggest religion.

It's a minority that want us to think like that, the average Muslim in places like Afghanistan Iraq and Iran just want to get on with life but get caught up in the cycle.

Al Q'aida/Taliban wind us up, we retaliate and kill civilians, AlQ/T tell all the locals 'we told you so', some of them become radicalised, they go out and wind us up, we retaliate and kill civilians, AlQ/T tell more people 'we told you so' etc..

If we don't modify how we react to what's left of Al Q'aida, the few that are left can sit back and stoke the flames of Jihad without ever having to stick their own necks out.
Somehow we have to convince the average bloke that our way is in their best interests and that when we do fuck off, the Taliban, Insurgents or any other bad bastards aren't going to swarm in and wipe them all out, which is exactly what happened in Basra recently and with the Kurds just after Gulf War 1..we told them to come out and stand up for themselves, then we stood by and watched them get murdered in the streets, is it any wonder they don't trust us?

And I'm not commenting on how the cycle started, we could be here all day, but it does have to end somewhere.

Yeah but in the first gulf war they were surrendering to the camera crews
